Jonathan's birthday!!

Jonathan turned three last Friday and I loved reminiscing about the last three years. How time flies! He has been such a wonderful part of our family!

He keeps us laughing these days. He's all about Star Wars. Usually he calls himself "Luke Skywalker" and calls Hubble "Darth Vader" (to which Hubble responds in his best Darth Vader voice "Luke, I am your father...Don't make me destroy you" - Jonathan loves it!).

Jonathan is also pure boy. Last week, the girls were sitting at the table, doing what they always do - drawing, coloring, cutting - and Jonathan was running around pulling their hair, climbing all over them and being a very pesky little brother. The girls were squealing and yelling at him, and I said, "Jonathan, don't you want to draw, too" (yes, I know, I'm much too used to my sedate little girls) and he said, "No, I want to fight!!"

This week, we started talking about Thanksgiving and being grateful, so we have a little "Thankful Jar" that we put slips of paper in with what we're thankful for written on them. When Julia asked Jonathan what he was thankful for, he said "bats." Brynn asked "like baseball bats?" (because he LOVES sports). And he said, "No, fruit bats" (as in the flying kind). Aren't we grateful for Diego to teach our kids about fruit bats? I don't think I would've gotten around to that for a few more years, at least.
